Clark Contracts wins £1.3m Edinburgh school refurb
The City of Edinburgh Council has appointed Clark Contracts to complete the £1.3 million internal and external refurbishment of Roseburn Primary School.
The works, which commenced in September, involve external fabric repairs, roofing works and window repairs to the Category B listed school.
Internally, substantial mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades will be completed including lighting, heating and fire alarms. Decoration works will also be completed to walls, floors and ceilings within the school.
The works are being completed whilst the school remains operational, with pupils decanting to allow access to the required rooms on a phased basis.
Due to this, Clark Contracts’ HSEQ manager along with the site manager, visited the school to deliver a health and safety presentation warning them of the dangers of live construction sites, particularly the ongoing works within their school.
The pupils are now participating in a competition to design a site safety poster. The winning poster will be displayed around our site perimeter and the winner gifted book vouchers.
Director Michael Scanlan said: “We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with the City of Edinburgh Council having recently delivered the restoration of Saughton Park and the construction of four new childhood centres in Davidson’s Mains, Ferryhill, Granton and Longstone.”
