Clark Contracts wins £40m of new work and recruits new staff
Construction, refurbishment, fit out and maintenance contractor Clark Contracts has secured new orders valued at over £40 million in the six months to March 31 and has recruited 34 new members of staff as a result.
New work for the Paisley firm includes a Grade A office fit out for Atlantic Quay Three Ltd at 3 Atlantic Quay in Glasgow, the construction of a new Tennis Centre within Saints Sports Centre for the University of St Andrews and the refurbishment and extension of the Category A listed St Anne’s Parish Church at Corstorphine in Edinburgh.
Lidl UK has awarded Clark Contracts a fifth contract to construct a new store in Bucksburn, Aberdeen.
The company has also secured six new projects from the City of Edinburgh Council which include the construction of new industrial units at East Hermiston Business Park, four new nursery schools and the replacement and repair of over 250 windows at the A listed Edinburgh City Chambers.
The new orders include the construction of a £2.6m office block on Quarry Road, Irvine for North Ayrshire Council and the extension of the terrace area of the Great Scots Bar at Cameron House Hotel, Loch Lomond.
The company’s maintenance division contributed to the new business success, winning contracts with Mydentist, Barburrito and Games Workshop to deliver planned and reactive maintenance across Scotland and, for Barburrito, the north of England. Lloyds Banking Group has also re-appointed Clark Contracts to deliver insurance reinstatement works for policyholders across Scotland until 2019.
During the same period, Clark Contracts was re-appointed to a number of framework agreements including the University of Strathclyde, East Lothian Council and Babcock Marine.
Gordon Cunningham, managing director at Clark Contracts, said “It’s been a great six months for us and an especially pleasing aspect is the healthy mix of new first time customers and those we have worked for before.”
