The group will embark on Britain’s toughest outdoor challenge on the 16th of June, scaling some of the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, within just 24 hours.

The team are training to tackle England’s tallest, Scafell Pike at 3,209 ft, Wales’s toughest challenge, Snowdon, at 3,560 ft and the towering Ben Nevis in Scotland set at a staggering 4,409ft above sea level.

In anticipation of Advance’s fundraising efforts, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity recently welcomed the adventurers for a tour of their facilities.

The team were given a special insight into all the different aspects of care and provision that the charity offers and the funds that the organisation requires to continue their life-saving work.

Formerly known as Yorkhill Children’s Charity, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity has been supporting children and their families since 2001 and has committed more than £41 million of support to ensure that every young patient is able to receive the special care that they deserve at Scotland’s biggest children’s hospital.

Michael Toolan, technical manager with Advance Construction Group Scotland and one of the team organisers, said: “We’re so proud of everyone for taking on the Three Peaks Challenge on behalf of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and the huge amount of training that they’ve dedicated to it.

“We’re delighted to support such a worthy cause and the staff and volunteers have been an excellent partner, inviting the team in to see for themselves the ways in which the funds help children in need.

“We’re grateful to everyone who is donating to this cause and wish the team the best of luck for the challenge.”

The team have set up a JustGiving page and already raised over £7,000.
