Companies invited to bid for Aberdeenshire council housing contracts
An event is being held to detail how small, medium and large local companies can bid for contracts as Aberdeenshire Council prepares an ambitious programme of upgrading 11,000 council homes.
The ‘Meet the Buyer Event’ on Friday 19 August 2016 will take place at Aberdeenshire Council’s headquarters located in Woodhill House, Westburn Road, Aberdeen.
Contractors are invited to register for the event on this link.
Local companies will have the chance to hear more about the programme alongside national contractors because of the opportunities for supply chain collaboration in delivering a programme approaching £250 million of upgrade works over a four year period.
The programme comprises external improvements (including roofing upgrade works, windows and external doors replacements), internal improvements (including heating systems, rewiring, kitchen and bathroom upgrades) and energy efficiency improvements (including photovoltaics and external, internal and cavity wall insulation).
Innovation and efficiency will be encouraged by bundling packages of work together to reduce disruption for council tenants and to obtain better value.
The council is keen to encourage use of the local supply chain in the delivery of these works and are inviting all interested parties to a presentation where the council’s head of property and facilities management and the head of housing will outline the Housing Stock Improvement Programme and give more information as to how suppliers can be involved. There will also be a Q&A session and the opportunity for suppliers to network after the presentation.
Further information regarding participation in this tender opportunity will be published on the Scottish Government’s procurement portal.
