Details: This contract will restore the remnant Dorrator “Swing” Bridge pillar structure and concrete plinths, construct new path access and install a new seating area by the River Carron, Larbert. Any treatment applied to the remnant bridge structure will prevent further corrosion and deterioration for a minimum of 25 years. The project also involves cleaning up and repainting the existing car park vehicle barrier adjacent to the bridge area (Bill of Quantities and Specifications have been uploaded to this site).

Works include:

- Cleaning, preparing and restoring the remaining Swing Bridge pillars

- Repair concrete plinths on north and south of the River

- Cleaning, preparing, restoring and reattaching bridge cable to existing pillars on south bank of river. The contractor will also need to design and install a new ground anchor point

- Supply and install a steel interpretative bench

- Install new sections of 2m wide bitmac paths linking existing path network to seating area and bitmac surfacing for seating area

- Clean, prepare and repaint existing car park area vehicle barrier

- Size, design, fabricate and install replacement finials for bridge pillars

Details: The objective of this project is to replace the existing, unserviceable refrigerant based reverse cycle (heating and cooling) systems which service parts of the Gate Building.
