Construction teams pitch in to raise money for Lighthouse charity
A group of companies recently teamed up for a 5-a-side charity tournament in aid of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity.
Organised by Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland West), nine teams took part in the first football tournament held at Hamilton Fives raising £2,842.00.
A winning team from Advance Construction called Atletico Trimble came out top beating Jordan Electrics in the final and were presented with a trophy, case of beers and a gift voucher for Top Golf Glasgow.
The money was raised from team entry fees and a raffle, and a number of stall holders, including the charity were also on hand.
Organiser Marc Carty of Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland West) said: “I am so impressed with the turnout on the day. Everyone had an amazing time playing and we could not be prouder to raise such a fantastic amount for a really important charity.”
The companies that took part included Jordan Electrics, Tough Construction, Advance Construction, Scotia Windows, Hillhouse Precast and Bellway Homes.
The Lighthouse charity provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to the construction community and their families.
