Construction work at East Lothian Community Hospital to get underway
Work on the new East Lothian Community Hospital could start within months, East Lothian Council has announced.
The new hospital is to be built on the site of the current Roodlands Hospital in Haddington.
Morrison Construction was named preferred contractor on the Keppie Design-penned developmenton by hub South East Scotland.
Planning for the new facility was granted in March this year and the new hospital will bring together services from Roodlands and Herdmanflat onto the same site in a purpose-built hospital building.
East Lothian Council has announced two public meetings at which it will present an update on the proposed schedule of building works.
The council said: “Your views have been key in the development to date and we are keen to keep you up to date and informed about current progress.”
The meetings will be held on Friday 09 and Thursday 15, September at Town House in Haddington.
