D J Laing begins work on 97 new Dundee homes
A local property developer has announced the official launch of a new 97 home development in Dundee.
D J Laing Homes has returned to the area, recently crowned Scotland’s best place to live, to start work on its latest development and follow the success of the 200 homes it built previously in Ballumbie.
Construction recently started on Phase 1 of the Castle View project which will comprise of twenty six new 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes in five varying house designs across the 5.34 hectare site.
The first properties will be ready to move into from August.
Managing director of D J Laing Homes, Karen Nicoll, said: “We are delighted to return to Dundee 10 years on since our previous development. With the recent opening of the V&A museum and further plans for investment and the regeneration of the Waterfront, we are excited to build a new community in the city. With Help to Buy funding assisting buyers to get on the property ladder there is no better time to purchase a new home in the city which can offer quality and value.”
As part of its planning consent, D J Laing Homes will make a financial contribution towards the education provision in the Whitfield area.
DJ Laing Homes has also agreed to include public art work that compliments and enhances the development’s amenity area. Green spaces will be created throughout the site and a new spine road will connect Berwick Drive to Lothian Crescent.
