Lam-Art (Dundee) Limited has appointed Dave Urquhart as the company’s director of contracts.

Mr Urquhart has been with Lam-Art as contracts manager for three years and in that time has seen the company’s turnover increase significantly by winning several major projects throughout Scotland.

Lam-Art manufactures and installs washrooms and associated furniture and fittings in all sectors of the construction industry. Recent completions include the Neo-Natal Department at Ninewells Hospitals Dundee, the washroom fit-outs in schools and nurseries across Dundee, Aberdeen, and the Central Belt and an essential contribution to the upgrade and refurbishment of Rusack’s Hotel, bordering the 18th hole of the world famous Old Course in St Andrews.

Mr Urquhart has been involved with all aspects of construction since he was awarded his City and Guilds in Furniture Craft at Kirkcaldy Technical College. From there, he has worked with Guild Homes, Kirkwood Homes, Doosan Power Systems, Mansell, Forman Construction, Morgan Sindall and he also ran his own joinery business, the highlight of which was his role as main joinery contractor for Manchester’s award-winning Lowry Centre.

Since joining Lam-Art, Mr Urquhart has contributed to all the company’s recent successes. He said: “I am very pleased and honoured to be appointed to the Board of Lam-Art. I have thoroughly enjoyed the very wide range of projects that the company is involved with. We deal with all types of manufacturing and installations for commercial contracts, hotels, hospitals, education, local authorities, and I’m very pleased that we have a healthy order book well into 2023.”

Robert Dunn, managing director of Lam-Art, added: “The company is delighted to be able to reward Dave with a place on our Board. He has proved to be an invaluable asset to our business, and we know that although there are many challenges in both the general economy and our own sector, Dave will play an essential part in developing the company and our network of major clients.”

Mr Urquhart’s fellow director, Derek Campbell, is very happy to welcome him to the board.

He added: “Over the past three years, Dave has become an integral part of our team. He brings with him an excellent portfolio of experience in our industry and has been instrumental in the success of all the projects since he joined us.”
