AmeetsA is a charitable event created by DoubleS Events in partnership with Collective Architecture.

Set for the evening of 7 November 2024, the event, which will again be hosted by Natasha Raskin Sharp, BBC presenter and antiques expert, brings architecture and art together in an entertaining and inspirational evening of fun and fundraising.

This year’s theme will be ‘A Celebration of Art Deco in Scotland,’ with the auctioned art inspired by 1920s and 1930s Scottish buildings.

Having raised £4,000 in 2023, funds raised this year will safeguard the future of an at-risk community building in Scotland.

To be held at Collective Architecture’s Bath Street studio in Glasgow, this year’s AmeetsA will mark ten years since the inaugural event.

Applications are being invited to benefit from the funds raised to restore a building that is at risk and important to a local community. The building must be in Scotland and the organisation behind it must be non-profit. The successful application will be agreed by an industry-leading panel of judges.

Last year’s funding recipient was the Old Mill in Balmacara. The Balmacara Community Trust is fundraising to restore the Old Mill, which has been the heart of their community for more than 150 years. The building, which needs a complete refurbishment, will now be made wind and weather tight with a new roof by the end of the year, with the team working with conservation architects at MAAC Studio.

Architects are now invited to submit a piece of art (in any media) inspired by a 19202/30s Scottish building, to be auctioned on the evening to raise funds.

Sara Seravalli, who created and delivers Architecture Meets Art, said: “I am thrilled to reunite with Collective Architecture to spearhead a new chapter of Architecture Meets Art.

“We have decided to extend the deadline for funding applications to 31 May in response to demand to do this. We’re really looking forward to reviewing and shortlisting the applications we receive to help safeguard an important community building.”

The deadline for applications for funding is 31 May and the deadline for submission of art to be auctioned is 30 September.
