Detailed planning applications lodged for Duncarnock homes

Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has submitted two detailed planning applications to East Renfrewshire Council as part of the delivery of its development of new homes off Springfield Road in Barrhead.

These detailed planning applications aim to introduce new larger homes from Taylor Wimpey’s Caledonian range and propose the provision of 44 new four and five-bedroom detached properties.

Arthurlie Gate will form a key part of the Barrhead South Masterplan which will also provide a range of benefits to the wider local community and includes a new railway station, transport upgrades and improvements to the Dams to Darnley Country Park. The overall development will also continue to deliver 8.5% entry-level homes for sale in accordance with East Renfrewshire Council’s policy.



Martin Findlay, technical director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “We are very pleased to be continuing to make good progress in the significant preparations required to create our new development – Arthurlie Gate in Barrhead.

“In response to customer demand for larger style properties, we have submitted two detailed planning applications to East Renfrewshire Council to include new homes from our Caledonian range which represents a redesign of the final phase of our existing Duncarnock development.

“Following the conclusion of the planning application process, we would like to be in a position to commence the programme of infrastructure in spring 2024, with our intention to build the first new homes at Arthurlie Gate later next year.

“As well as the provision of substantial community benefits, this planning application marks a significant step in bringing this parcel of the Barrhead South masterplan forward and demonstrates our commitment to continue to invest in the local area.”
