Crieff builder and developer Corryard has launched the show apartment of its conversion of a mansion house in Perth.

Originally built in 1852, Knowehead House has been fully restored and renovated transforming the building into five apartments with each apartment designed to maximize the light and space both inside and outside the building and enhancing the original features of the building.

John Burke from Corryard said: “When we first viewed Knowehead House the first thing we noticed was the original cornices, stairs and the overall craftsmanship of the original building, it’s a real gem, so we set about saving as many of the original features as we could.

“Throughout the renovation process we restored the original cornices, the main entrance hall and main staircase and of course the overall building. We also did a lot of work tidying up the grounds allowing for private garden space, parking and building a new boundary wall with replica stone pillars on Dundee Road.

“The finished result is contemporary apartments which have character and charm of a B listing building offering perfect blend of old and new.”

The two-bed show apartment offers an open plan kitchen/living space enhanced by a kitchen designed, supplied and fitted by Cameron Interiors in Glasgow. The room is filled by natural light from the sash & case windows has the finishing touch of a wood burning stove.

A large roof terrace offers views over the River Tay and the city centre.

Corryard was recognised for the sensitive redevelopment of older buildings winning the Federation of Master Builders award for Best Large Renovation in the UK in 2010 for its Locherlour Mill project and then in 2013 winning Conversion of the Year in the Scottish Home Awards and Best Renovation in the Herald Property Awards.
