DJ Laing Contracts wins Monifieth housing development contract
GL Residential has appointed DJ Laing Contracts to its renovation and new build project due to commence at Seaview in Monifieth.
The company has been awarded the contract for the site infrastructure which will be carried out over a six-week period.
The development will convert the Category B Listed Seaview House which was falling into disrepair and build three new blocks of apartments within the grounds, together with landscaping the mutual areas.
The main design of the project has been to preserve and enhance the character and setting of a historic building, whilst creating three new build apartment blocks that have been carefully designed with a mix of modern and traditional materials.
The design is a sensitive proposal which combines a contemporary flatted development and restoration works to an existing listed building, that will help save and protect a historic building for years to come.
The properties are bounded by Hill Street to the south with the main entrance driveway, Victoria Street to the east with second entrance and Queen Street to west.
GL Residential is a local property development company based in Dundee. Previous developments include River Walk, Blairgowrie, The Sands, Broughty Ferry, The Flockanes, Perthshire, and Clear Water, Broughty Ferry.
