Doig+Smith names two directors to Aberdeen team
Construction consultancy Doig+Smith is to expand its Aberdeen office as it welcomed two new senior recruits.
New technical director Scott Ramsay will be tasked with growing and developing the consultancy’s project management offering in the North East of Scotland. Scott has a wealth of experience in project management, most notably in his previous role at Aberdeen City Council where he was responsible for the delivery of The Events Complex Aberdeen (TECA) a multi-dimensional project with the combined programme of works totalling an incredible £385 million.
Strengthening Doig+Smith’s team of quantity surveyors is Iain Taylor, who has been appointed as technical director and will take the lead on commercial delivery. Iain has over 20 years of experience and is skilled in both project management and quantity surveying.
The expansion of the Aberdeen Office comes in response to a spike in work in the North East. Recognising an opportunity for continued growth, the board of directors sought to make these strategic recruitments to enhance the local team and ensure the construction consultancy is in the strongest possible position to service the needs of existing and prospective clients.
Ian Jamieson, Doig+Smith director and head of operations in Aberdeen, said: “We have had a team on the ground in Aberdeen for over 15 years now and in this time, we’ve supported some of the city’s most important projects including Aberdeen Airport, the University of Aberdeen, Marischal College, Robert Gordon’s College and the ongoing expansion project at Aberdeen Harbour. We are now seeing an increasing demand for projects in this territory and though we have already established a sterling reputation here in the Northeast, we know how important it is to build on this.”
He added: “Scott and Iain will be excellent additions to our Aberdeen team, with both professionals excelling in their respective disciplines. The experience and skills they bring to our organisation is evident and will benefit clients and staff alike. I look forward to working with both Scott and Iain in the months and years ahead and hope they will enjoy working at Doig+Smith.”
