Dunbar rugby tournament scores Taylor Wimpey support for 10th year
Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has announced its support as main sponsor of the annual Dunbar Rugby Football Club’s Minis Tournament for a record 10th year as the event returns following a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
This year’s event will be hosted at Hallhill Healthy Living Centre in Dunbar on Sunday 15 May 2022, and it will attract around 300-400 children from ages P3 to P7 from across East Lothian, the Borders, and Edinburgh to take part.
Refreshing its support for the Dunbar Minis Rugby Tournament is a great chance to reinforce Taylor Wimpey’s commitment to the local community.
Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “We are delighted to see the return of the Dunbar Minis Tournament, and to have an opportunity to continue our support for this successful local event that so many children from across the area enjoy taking part in.
“Through our previous developments of new homes and our future land interests including our Belhaven Way development, we have a long association with the local community in Dunbar. We hope this event will once again become a popular fixture in the local community calendar with spectators visiting the club to enjoy a fun, family event that encourages a healthy participation in sport.”
Justin Pearce, Dunbar Rugby Club president, added: “We’re thrilled to have secured Taylor Wimpey East Scotland as our main sponsor once again– signalling their 10 th year of support to this event and to the club generally.
“This ongoing partnership allows us to deliver a great community event of sport that will attract teams and spectators from across the local area, which is a great showcase for the club and the town of Dunbar itself.
“Our tournament continues to be the only minis rugby event that recognises every player from every team with a participation medal. Our sponsorship from Taylor Wimpey helps us to maintain this key aspect of the event whilst helping us to reinforce that getting involved and playing a sport for fun and fitness is a positive life choice.
“The Club enjoys fantastic support from its sponsors, volunteers, coaches, referees, parents and most importantly every minis rugby player who ensures that the tournament remains a great success.
“We’re looking forward to the return of one of the biggest fixtures in the club’s calendar, and we hope to see as many members of the local community at the event as possible to support their local team!”
