Dundas' £35m project shortlisted for property award

The Wireworks

A Musselburgh development by independent homebuilder Dundas has been nominated at a prestigious property award ceremony taking place in Glasgow next month.

‘The Wireworks’ hopes to scoop up one of the top prizes after it was shortlisted in the ‘Apartment of the Year’ category at The Herald Property Awards for Scotland 2024.

A £35 million development of the former Brunton Wireworks site in the Honest Toun, the site brings to the market a range of high-spec one, two and three-bedroom apartments, and a selection of stylish penthouses to Musselburgh.

Craig Fairfoull, sales and marketing director at Dundas, said: “It’s always a huge honour to have one of our developments up for awards like this.

“The care and effort we put into each individual site and each individual home is something we really pride ourselves in, so being recognised for that is very satisfying.

“We’re looking forward to the ceremony and have our fingers crossed that The Wireworks will bring a trophy home for us.”

Taking place on the 26th of September at the Doubletree Hilton in Glasgow, The Herald Property Awards for Scotland 2024 promises to honour the achievements of Scotland’s most innovative and successful home and commercial builders, developers, agents, interior designers and registered social landlords.

Each apartment at The Wireworks comes equipped with an ensuite and a balcony, as well as a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and living room with top-of-the-range specifications.

Hive-controlled heating, contemporary kitchens with SMEG appliances, Porcelanosa bathroom tiling and hyperopic broadband are some of the high-specification features within the properties.

Also up for an award on the night is Glasgow-based specialist communications consultancy Perceptive Communicators which has been shortlisted as Property Marketing Team of the Year.

This marks the fourth time, and third consecutive year, Perceptive has been shortlisted for the award having taken home the silverware as winners twice before in 2022 and 2018.

The award recognises teams who have demonstrated the added value and innovative practices they bring to organisations within the built environment.

Managing director of Perceptive Communicators, Julie Moulsdale, said: “As built environment specialists, we support the whole sector from architects and engineers to regeneration, housebuilders and commercial developers. We are delighted with this recognition not just for us but for five of our clients, AS Homes, Campion Homes, Cruden Group, Carmichael Homes and NVDC, who are also recognised, some of whom have been shortlisted several times.

“The property sector makes such a positive impact on society and resonates with our purpose of improving lives and transforming futures. With almost two decades of built environment experience, we have deep insight and amazing industry connections and we are proud to be recognised for our work in this key industry.”

Earlier this year, Perceptive was awarded ‘Supporting Organisation of the Year’ at the 2024 Homes for Scotland Awards and named in the Top 50 Inspiring Workplaces in the UK.
