Dundee homes set for window replacements and new secure door entries

A total of 157 homes in Dundee could benefit from window replacements if councillors approve tenders next week.

The renewals to windows are worth over £1,500,000 with works scheduled to begin to properties from as early as April.

Councillors will also hear of proposals to install new stair entrance doors and controlled door entry systems to two blocks in Ancrum Place, two blocks in Morven Terrace and five other properties in the city.

Neighbourhood Services Committee convener Heather Anderson said: “It’s imperative that we continue to invest in the city council’s housing stock to ensure they are secure and energy efficient for our tenants.

“This latest round of proposals for window renewals looks to achieve this and ensure that our tenants inhabit easier to heat homes.

“By installing more secure door entry systems in the city, it provides peace of mind to tenants as a safety measure knowing they have greater control over who comes in and out of their close area.”

The Neighbourhood Services Committee will meet on Monday, February 20th.
