Edinburgh named as among leading cities for rising luxury house prices
Edinburgh has been named as one of the leading cities for rising luxury house prices in the Knight Frank Prime Global Cities Index.
The index is a valuation-based index which tracks the movement in prime residential prices in local currency across 40+ cities across the globe using data from Knight Frank’s global research network.
Edinburgh is ranked at number 13 in the index just below Jakarta and Paris.
The city has seen a 3.4% 12-month increase and a 0.9% increase in the last three months of this year.
Edinburgh’s growth has placed it above Tokyo and Beijing in the listing which have both seen a growth of 3.3% in the last 12 months.
The top three locations in the index are Moscow, which has seen an 11.1% increase in the last 12 months, Frankfurt with a 10.3% increase in the same period and Taipei with an increase of 8.9%.
