Edinburgh office refurbishments underway as Aberdeen project progresses
Knight Property Group has commenced the refurbishment of two city centre office premises in Edinburgh and has completed the first phase of a £45 million development in Aberdeen.
The property developer acquired 110 George Street and 2 Castle Terrace in the Capital in early 2015 and will speculatively refurbish both sites to provide a total of 18,312 ft² of Grade A city centre workspace.
Once completed, 110 George Street will offer five floors of high quality period office accommodation totalling 7,317 ft² within a typical Edinburgh Georgian townhouse.
No 2 Castle Terrace will undergo significant refurbishment to enhance the quality of internal space and common parts. The 10,995 ft² building will boost four floors of office space behind a retained facade.
James Barrack, Knight Property Group managing director, said: “Expanding within the Central Belt is an exciting move for the company. Both Castle Terrace and George Street properties are key purchases for Knight Property Group within the city centre. With the prestigious location of the properties and opportunity for refurbishment, we are confident we can create space that will fit the needs of the occupier market.”
The Aberdeen-based group has also announced the completion of Phase 1 of its £45m development at Kingshill Commercial Park with the unveiling of the first two industrial units.
Work on the Westhill site commenced in early 2015. Both industrial units on the site have been developed on a speculative basis and consist of 5,500 sq ft of office space complete with air conditioning, raised access floor, 10,000 sq ft. of workshop space benefiting from 8.5 m external eaves height, and reinforced concrete yards and private parking.
James Barrack added: “Aberdeen City and Shire was lacking new, high quality industrial space. Reacting to the market demand we built Kingshill Commercial Park, which offers modern high spec industrial units to potential tenants.”
