Edwin James Group appoints new health, safety and environment director
Experienced HSE professional Rollo Wood has joined Glasgow-headquartered Edwin James Group as group health, safety and environment director.
Mr Wood was previously responsible for the HSE performance of Shell’s global retail service station network, which includes over 45,000 service stations in 80 countries.
Edwin James said the new role underlines the group’s commitment to safety and sustainability and will help drive the company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda and further develop the health and safety strategy.
Mark Longley, group corporate services director, said: “Health and safety have always sat at the heart of our business, safety is one of our core values. The appointment of Rollo into this key role will ensure that we can bring together and build on the great work already being done both internally and by supporting our customers to meet their targets. His skills and experience will be invaluable in shaping our safety and ESG policies over the coming years as we continue to grow.”
Edwin James recently announced the largest investment in learning and development in its history. The group launched a new EJ Academy programme of lifetime learning and opened a new training hub in Glasgow to support STEM careers from apprentice to director.
Rollo Wood said: “I’m joining Edwin James at an exciting time. The business has clear plans for growth, and I can see lots of opportunities for my role to play a key part in the next phase of development. I’m looking forward to working with the management and leadership teams across the group to further embed the right safety culture and drive forward the ESG agenda.”
