The engineering services business said its underlying earnings are on plan, following another year of growth.

“These figures are aligned with group targets and represent over 30% year-on-year growth and are testament to the group’s strategy to become a leading national engineering services business,” it added.

With head office locations in both Glasgow and Burton-on-Trent, Edwin James Group boasts more than 1,200 employees. It has recently expanded with the acquisition of two businesses - Jex Process Services and Peak42, supporting the strategic growth strategy within the process services business.

Jex Process Services is a full-service engineering business based in Manchester and Redditch and was acquired in June. Peak42, control and automation specialists based across the UK, was acquired in July and both add significant capability and long-term customer relationships to the group.

Edwin James Group chief executive officer, Derek Smith, said the recent acquisitions are not included in the group’s annual figures but demonstrate the group’s ambition and continued UK-wide expansion.

He added: “These results mark another year of continued growth for our business and puts us in a strong position to welcome Jex and Peak42 to our group. The acquisition of these businesses adds expertise and depth to our group and is aligned with our strategy to bring together well-respected, established businesses to create a full-service national operator.

“We are well positioned for long-term and sustainable growth and are reinforcing our reputation for expertise within engineering services with excellent customer service, delivered the EJ Way.”
