Event promises bidding masterclass for Scottish businesses
A new masterclass led by procurement sector experts has promised to provide prospective suppliers with vital information on how to submit a successful bid for its upcoming frameworks.
The event will equip potential suppliers with essential knowledge on how to put themselves in the best position for success in securing major business opportunities with over 120 public sector organisations.
Hosted by the Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA), the event will take place on 21 March at its headquarters in Livingston and is open to all businesses that are curious about the benefits of being appointed to a public sector framework.
Lesley Anderson, regional director at SPA, said: “In today’s climate of rising costs and environmental urgency, businesses should consider the opportunities presented by our frameworks with interest.
“We collaborate with over 120 organisations to deliver numerous projects aimed at improving Scotland through meticulous planning, infrastructure development, and a host of community benefit initiatives, making us the preferred provider for many public sector entities.
“With 16 active frameworks and one dynamic purchasing system, this session aims to demystify the bidding processes and equip suppliers with the essential knowledge required to position themselves optimally for securing a place on the framework.
“By providing insights into scoring criteria and best practices, we strive to create a level playing field that fosters a competitive, value-driven bidding environment, supporting local businesses while achieving sustainability goals.”
SPA’s masterclass will provide suppliers with a comprehensive overview of the bidding process, covering market entry strategies and the bidder’s journey to tender documentation, terminology, scoring mechanisms, typical queries, and other essential aspects of the application process.
Attendees will benefit from expert advice and tips from SPA’s experienced procurement team, giving suppliers valuable insights that could result in them achieving a place on its frameworks.
Lesley added: “Whether you are new to the bidding process or have some experience, this session will contain valuable information that will increase your businesses chances for success to earn a coveted spot on the framework.
“Shortly applications will open for bidders to tender for a range of framework opportunities. Five frameworks will each open to tender this year and we are seeking interest from suppliers that are capable of delivering a range of works and services for energy efficiency upgrades, roofing repairs and installations, door types for fire and security, supply of temporary and permanent modular buildings and construction firms to support the development and refurbishment of public buildings and infrastructure.
“This is a crucial point in time for developing Scotland’s infrastructure, including housing and public buildings. More people than ever are in need of quality residential and community spaces, so equipping parties with essential knowledge for successful bids is vital for far-reaching socio-economic benefits.
“We hope to have a full house in attendance, and we’re really looking forward to meeting with suppliers, as it is another opportunity for ourselves to see what more we can do to support them in delivering high-quality housing and public building projects.”
Spaces for the event are limited due to anticipated demand. Companies interested in attending can register here.
