Experienced architects form new Midlothian practice
A new architecture practice has been launched that pledges to “bring knowledgeable, ethical design to Edinburgh and the Lothians”.
Founded by experienced architects Chris Matson and Gillian Mourier, Matson Mourier Architects will specialise in residential and small commercial projects.
Gillian Mourier spent almost 11 years at Oberlanders Architects, latterly as director of architecture. After a spell at Barton Willmore, Chris Matson launched his own practice in 2019 and spent three years as an associate consultant architect at SBA Architects on a freelance basis.
Announcing the news on LinkedIn, Matson wrote: “Gillian Mourier and I have formed Matson Mourier Architects in Dalkeith, Midlothian. We will be focusing on designing wonderful homes and supporting small businesses with their plans for growth.
“Between us, we have bags of experience in a variety of sectors and would love to hear from people who are planning to build something.
“Our new firm is a continuation of the work I’ve built up as a sole practitioner, with a new direction brought by Gill and her background in commercial architecture. Looking forward to getting going!”
