Fife approves plans for 80 new homes in Balgonie
Glenrothes-based Atmore Easy Living Development (AELD) Ltd has received planning permission to build 80 new homes in Balgonie, Fife.
A mix of two, three and four-bedroom semi-detached and detached bungalows will be delivered on land north of Queen’s Meadow. The development will also see a mix of three, four and five-bedroom semi-detached and detached two-storey homes, as well as eight affordable houses.
Fife Council has stated that AELD must pay £484,102 in education contributions to proceed.
Concerns over capacity at Coaltown Primary School and Auchmuty High School were raised in a report, with the education team advising that all eligible new homes in the catchment area must contribute towards a solution.
The estimated cost of the high school capacity solution is £3 million and the primary solution is £819,985.
The developer said: “The emphasis is to create a new a development which will have a sense of place and identity and which will be distinctive, welcoming, safe and pleasant and easy to move around, while also seen as integrating with the existing settlement.”
