hub South West Scotland has announced the reaching of financial close on the £36 million Garnock Campus Project in Ayrshire.
The campus, which will relocate and merge Garnock Academy and Glengarnock Primary school on a greenfield site in Glengarnock, will cater for 1,500 students – 1,200 secondary, 300 primary and 30 nursery. Due for completion in late 2016, the project will also provide community facilities such as a six-lane 25m swimming pool and fitness suite.
hub South West appointed Kier Construction to deliver the project on behalf of North Ayrshire Council.
Michael McBrearty, chief executive, hub South West Scotland, said the news is another significant milestone in the organisation’s relationship with North Ayrshire Council and that it looks forward to delivering the fantastic facility with construction partners Kier Construction.
He added: “Garnock Academy will be a flagship project generating growth, maximising local investment and creating local opportunities for training, learning and further education. We selected Kier Construction as they are a national business who have committed to delivering economic growth and regeneration opportunities for the benefit of the local economy.”
