First development for Kirkwood Homes kicks off in Dundee
Luxury housebuilder Kirkwood Homes has started work on its first development in Dundee.
A total of 45 luxury two bedroom apartments are set to be created at its DD1 Hawkhill development. Located close to the centre of Dundee and both of the city’s universities, the commencement of work marks the return of Kirkwood Homes to the area.
The growth into the area is part of the company’s long-term expansion strategy, as it looks to extend its offering from a predominantly North East of Scotland focus to other areas of the country.
Kirkwood Homes has also submitted plans to build 18 four and five bedroom executive family homes in the village of Liff, located just outside the city. The firm also expects to resubmit its proposals for its eagerly anticipated Balgillo Heights development in Broughty Ferry in the early part of 2018.
Colin Crombie, managing director of Kirkwood Homes, said: “Starting work on our DD1 Hawkhill development marks the beginning of our return to the area, an exciting time for us all. This development is our first in the city and we are delighted to be bringing our luxury apartments with the high standard of specification and quality of finish that we have become renowned for to Dundee.
“This is a significant step forward in our growth plans. We have already progressed and expanded into Inverness and the highlands area and now, with work beginning in Dundee, our homes are being offered across Scotland.
