Flats and retail plan for Glasgow gap site

Plans to fill a Tollcross gap site with flats and ground floor commercial units have been drawn up and submitted to Glasgow City Council.
Permission is being sought for a four-storey building at 1042 Tollcross Road.
If approved, six flats would be built over a retail unit and a hot-food takeaway would also be included, ReGlasgow reports.
There would be a terrace for residents at first floor level at the rear of the building.
A supporting statement included with the application argues: “This site has lain vacant for some considerable time and this [proposal] should be seen as an opportunity to encourage a well-considered design solution.”
The proposal by Cater Homes is pending assessment by Glasgow planners.
