Fleming joins Scotland Excel framework as 'approved contractor'

Fleming has been named as an approved contractor on Scotland Excel’s 2nd generation New Build Residential Construction Framework.

The framework will assist housing associations in delivering much-needed new-build residential projects, including houses, flats, care homes and student accommodation. Fleming has been appointed to three of the five lots for new build housing developments of up to 35 units.

Fleming’s director, Ronnie Burrows, said: “We’re very excited to be an approved contractor in this flagship new build construction framework which will allow us to deliver energy efficient residential projects for new and existing clients.

“With several sustainability benefits proposed, the framework represents a beneficial alignment of Fleming’s values and National Outcomes set by the Scottish Government.

“Having delivered exceptional work in similar sectors over the years, we’re grateful for the trust Scotland Excel is giving us in helping build these much-needed affordable homes. With Fleming and Scotland Excel’s shared commitment to meeting net zero targets combined with our increasing passivhaus and low energy expertise it’s a privilege to provide lasting benefit to communities.”

Announced at Scotland Excel’s Estates Management Expo, Hugh Carr, director of strategic procurement, described the project as the flagship for Scotland Excel’s specialist construction portfolio.

Fleming’s appointment to the Scotland Excel Framework adds to a range of existing frameworks including Hub West Scotland and NHS Minor Works (£1.5m - £4m).
