Long-serving former director of Campion Homes Marjorie Scott has passed away.

The Scottish housing developer made the announcement on LinkedIn, saying Ms Scott was “an integral member of the Campion Homes family since our inception in 1989”.

The statement continued: “Marjorie’s professional journey began with a decade of dedicated service in a Chartered Accountants practice. In 1989 she supported Pete Bell and George Cruickshank with the founding of Campion Homes.

“Throughout her time there her role in the business grew and in 2000 she was appointed to the role of financial director. Her leadership and financial acumen were pivotal in shaping the company’s growth and success.

“Throughout her tenure, Marjorie’s commitment and passion were evident in every aspect of her work; latterly acting as director with a focus on private development sales. Marjorie was well known throughout the business for her attention to detail and her snagging lists were legendary.

“Marjorie’s internal design flair also came to the fore when it came to fitting out the various showhomes to an exemplary level. It was this attention to detail and no compromise approach to quality and workmanship which remain as part of Marjorie’s legacy at Campion Homes.

“Marjorie will be remembered not only for her professional achievements but also for her warmth, kindness and the lasting impact she had on her colleagues and friends. Marjorie took a personal interest in all her colleagues, always ensuring a cake was shared for an office birthday, the birth of colleagues’ children were celebrated and all staff achievements were recognised. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working with her.

“Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to her family and friends during this difficult time.”
