Former council offices set to be bought by West Lothian firm

Arrochar House in Livingston is set to be purchased by a successful West Lothian-based leisure wear firm.

Officers are recommending that the sale of the former council offices in Almondvale Boulevard to Prestige Leisure UK Limited (PLUL) is approved by the West Lothian Council Executive at their meeting on Tuesday 28 May.

PLUL have been established in West Lothian for over 20 years, and currently employ around 100 staff at their distribution centre in Houston Industrial Estate, Livingston.

They provide unbranded leisure wear to printers, embroiderers and promotional companies across the UK and Ireland who customise the garments to create corporate uniform, school, work and team wear for businesses.

They plan to use Arrochar House as part of their expansion strategy, which will allow them to grow their successful business further in West Lothian.

Arrochar House was declared surplus after it was no longer required for council services, and marketed for sale. Income from the sale of surplus properties generates valuable income for the council, which can then be reinvested in essential services.

The offer of just over £800,000 from PLUL was the highest bid received and represents best value for the council.
