Former Dumbarton school site to be transformed into 68 new homes
Persimmon West Scotland has announced its plans to start work on the brownfield site following the recent purchase of the land from West Dunbartonshire Council.
The homebuilder’s development of 68 new energy-efficient homes is on the site of the former high school and overlooks Cunninghame Graham Memorial Park.
The development will consist of 27 three- and four-bedroom detached homes, along with 18 three-bedroom semi-detached, 15 two-bedroom mid-terrace, and eight three-bedroom end terrace properties.
As part of the development, Persimmon will make an investment to benefit the local community. This includes upgrading the existing football pitches next to the site with new flood lights and funding improvements to Cunninghame Graham Memorial Park.
Craig Moore, Persimmon West Scotland land director, said: “We’re delighted to have purchased land for our development and I want to thank West Dunbartonshire Council for their support. Not only will the development deliver 68 energy-efficient new homes, it will also create jobs and generate investment in the local economy.
“We’re committed to creating vibrant, successful communities, and with around half of our customers first-time buyers, we’re proud to be supporting more local families on the housing ladder.
“We’ll continue to work in partnership with the council and other stakeholders to ensure our investment delivers real benefits for the whole community.”
