Fourth phase of Granton Waterfront development moves to planning stage
A planning application has now been lodged for the development of 220 homes at Granton Waterfront.
About this development:
- Authority:Edinburgh City
- Type:Residential
- Applications:
- Team:places for people (developer), ema architects (architect)
The full application, which will deliver a mix of private and affordable flats, terraces and townhouses on vacant ground to the north of Waterfront Avenue, follows a consultation process early last year.
EMA Architecture + Design is working alongside Places for People, Ironside Farrar and Will Rudd.
In a vision statement, EMA Architecture + Design wrote: “The proposed site offers an opportunity to regenerate vacant brownfield land. It will provide an attractive housing development which positively responds to its local setting.
“The proposals will deliver 220 new homes through a mix of flats and colony houses. These will include one, two and three-bed types to suit residents of varying needs and stages of life.
“The proposal is designed to respond to site constraints, existing structures, development opportunities and the surrounding setting. The proposal has also been designed to comply with Local and National Design Guidance to ensure that it provides new homes with a clear sense of place, a neighbourhood which is welcoming and integrates naturally with its surroundings.”
