Persimmon West Scotland supported this year’s Monkton Gala Day with a £1,000 donation, as part of the homebuilder’s Community Champions scheme.

The Gala Day took place on Saturday 8 June and was organised by the Monkton Community Council, with the aim of bringing the people of the village together.

This year’s event was bigger and better than ever, with a variety of fun-filled activities taking place – from face painting to ninja assault courses.

The group received the £1,000 donation through Persimmon’s Community Champions initiative, which supports charities and good causes in the areas the company operates in. The programme has seen more than £360,000 donated across Scotland in the last five years.

Chris Logan, managing director of Persimmon West Scotland, said: “We were delighted to support this year’s Monkton Gala Day with a donation.

“Our Community Champions initiative is aimed at supporting groups that make a real difference in the areas we operate in, and the Monkton Gala Day does a great job of bringing the local community together.”

Catherine Robertson, Monkton Gala Day organiser, said: “On behalf of Monkton Gala Group, I was delighted to accept this donation from Persimmon West Scotland, which helped to fund the 2024 Gala Day and create a fantastic day full of fun and activities.”
