Glasgow city centre office move for Diamond & Co
Building consultancy expert Diamond & Co. has moved from Cumbernauld to a new address in Glasgow city centre.
The company has secured new state-of-the-art office space in the city’s West George Street.
The strategic move comes amid a period of rapid growth for Diamond & Co, and one which it hopes will help to attract the best industry talent.
Diamond & Co Building Consultancy and Brooker Diamond Fire Engineers has played a leading role in developing bespoke processes for removing and replacing flammable cladding post-Grenfell.
The firm recently project managed the refurbishment of a block of flats in Aberdeen – the only building to have been remediated under the Scottish Government’s pilot cladding programme. The government has identified 107 ‘high priority’ buildings requiring work as part of the pilot scheme
As a hybrid firm, Diamond & Co provides both commercial building consultancy and fire engineering services across all sectors to both public and private clients, commercial property landlords, tenants and funds.
Services include building & quantity surveying, architectural, project management and principal designer roles alongside core fire engineering services.
Jim Kerr, director for Building Consultancy, said: “Having city centre offices in one of Glasgow’s most historical and prestigious addresses will put the company in a stronger position to continue its growth and attract the best industry talent.
“With better access to transport links, particularly the airport, and the latest facilities we are on a level footing with many of our competitors in the city centre.
“The new office has been fitted out to allow us to move to a more flexible way of working with room for future expansion.
“We are experiencing a significant growth period and the move to our new premises underlines our ambition to continue as a market leader across building consultancy and fire engineering services being delivered to clients based throughout the UK and Europe.”
Diamond & Co has secured a letting at 140 West George Street, owned by Legal and General. The 1600 sqft space has been fully fitted out with the latest IT technology. The building also provides access to showers and cycle stores, allowing staff to cycle into work following the office move on 25 October.
Mr Kerr added: “The office space is plug and play so it was a seamless move for us on the 25th. All infrastructure and IT was in place, so we were able to complete the move on the same day. We are conscious of our sustainability commitments, so being able to offer staff the option of cycling into work or using public transport is another big plus.”
