Graham + Sibbald appoints five to director
Surveying firm Graham + Sibbald has announced the promotion of five associate staff members to director, following a restructure of the business.
Graeme Boyd and Fergus Mair (Edinburgh), alongside Kerri McGuire, Claire Galbraith and Andy Thomson (Glasgow) will all be taking on the new title.
Based within the firm’s Edinburgh residential team, Graeme and Fergus carry out a variety of surveys, valuations and home reports across Edinburgh and the Lothians on a daily basis.
A graduate of Aberdeen University, Graeme worked in private practice across Edinburgh and Glasgow before joining Graham + Sibbald in 2006. He has developed extensive experience in portfolio valuations, development appraisal works as well as within the new build sector. Graeme plays a key role within the firm’s structured training programme and is an RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) Assessor.
Fergus graduated from Napier University in 2003 and initially worked within the commercial sector in Newcastle, before joining the G+S residential team. He has developed a close working relationship with many of the estate agents and solicitors within Edinburgh, together with major lenders and private client banks. A keen follower of the property market at both local and national level, his opinions of market trends are respected and often sought.
In Glasgow, Kerri McGuire heads Graham + Sibbald’s dedicated planning and development team. With over 14 years of private sector planning and developer consultancy experience, she was promoted to associate in 2014, providing planning and development land consultancy advice to private and public sector clients across the whole of Scotland. This includes the provision of strategic planning advice, planning applications and appeals.
Claire joined Graham + Sibbald in 2013 and has over 14 years’ experience. She specialises in asset and property management, having acted for both landlords and tenants throughout offices, industrial and mixed-use commercial developments. Claire has a broad range of experience focusing particularly on financial, asset and health + safety management. Promoted to Associate in 2015, her remit covers property management teams throughout Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee.
Andy graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2004 and joined Graham + Sibbald in 2012. He is responsible for contract administration of various refurbishment projects, including specification and design, procurement and project management through to completion. Andy regularly undertakes detailed building inspections of commercial, industrial and residential properties and is involved in the preparation and negotiation of dilapidation claims.

Graham + Sibbald also announced the promotion of David Hyde to associate.
David joined Graham + Sibbald in 2016 and has over 10 years’ experience in the Glasgow and Lanarkshire residential market. He studied property management and valuation at Glasgow Caledonian University, graduating in 2010 and gaining Chartership in 2014.
