Hub’s Contractors, Morrison Construction and BAM Construction were the primary sponsors of this year’s event and were present to meet the charity’s team and members and find out about how their support is changing lives.

This is the third event organised by Hub South East, with donations now totalling almost £60,000 since 2015 and in recognition of this partnership, Grassmarket Community Project presented Hub South East with a plaque on its supporters’ wall during this week’s visit.

Roddy Clark, Hub South East’s operations director, said: “The Hub model, at its heart, is about making a real difference to local communities and It is with great pride that since 2015 Hub South East has partnered with Grassmarket Community Project - a charity that really is changing the lives of some of Edinburgh’s most vulnerable citizens.

“Thanks to the sponsorship of our two main contractors, as well as the involvement of a great number of supply chain partners, we raised a fantastic £20,000 at our 2019 Charity Golf Day and we’re delighted that this will be put towards the extension to the Centre, allowing more space to provide invaluable services for members.

“We are also extremely pleased to be recognised by Grassmarket Community Project as a key supporter, after donating almost £60,000 over three events, and we look forward to continuing this partnership moving forward.”

Jonny Kinross, chief executive of Grassmarket Community Project, added: “We are delighted to have received such an incredibly generous donation from Hub South East and its supply chain. This will help us build a much-needed extension to our building - providing 20% more space and increasing the number of activities, as well as the number of people we can support at any one time.

“The Grassmarket Community Project has never been more needed, with many more people experiencing social isolation, mental health issues and people who are homeless, have disabilities or who are struggling needing somewhere to go and someone to turn to.

“The funds raised by Hub South East will help ensure people can access bespoke support, training and a hand-up when they need it most. Thank you to everyone that played, sponsored and donated to this incredibly successful fundraiser - it’s great to know that Hub and its supply chain share our commitment to creating an inclusive society and allowing everyone to reach their true potential.”

Billy Gray, framework director for Morrison Construction, said: “We are proud to support this fantastic event once again. There is always a great atmosphere on the day, with some healthy competition between teams and plenty of good humour.

“It’s truly amazing to be able to make this donation to a wonderful charity, which provides such excellent support to vulnerable members of the local community and to know the money raised will make a positive difference to them during a difficult time.”

Bruce Dickson, BAM Construction’s regional director, added: “We’re delighted to continue our support of the Grassmarket Community Project. Jonny and his team deserve all the recognition that we can give them for the tireless work they do to support the most vulnerable people in our society”.
