Green heating upgrade for Troon Leisure Club

Work to update the heating system at Troon Leisure Club will start on Monday 30 September.

The facility will be open as normal throughout the upgrade, which is scheduled to last around six weeks.

The project will see the old gas boilers removed and replaced with three new energy efficient boilers. The new heating system will feature remote access, and a sophisticated fault alert system.

Councillor Martin Kilbride, buildings, housing and environment portfolio holder for South Ayrshire Council, said: “We estimate that the new system will reduce gas consumption by around 20%, which is fantastic for our green credentials. The work means we are also future proofing the facility and reducing maintenance costs.”

Councillor Brian Connolly, sport and leisure portfolio holder, added: “It’s important that the facility remained open for the duration of the works, so I am delighted there will be little impact on users. We continue to invest in our leisure facilities to ensure they are energy efficient and cater for the needs of customers.”
