Halliday Fraser Munro launches virtual studio for students

Halliday Fraser Munro (HFM) has set up a virtual studio for students as it targets the next generation of architectural, planning and construction professionals.

The initiative includes a series of free live webinars and discussions to help the next generation of talent transition from the studio to the office.

The Virtual Studio also provides an opportunity for students to meet, network with and learn from some of the best in the business and take their knowledge and experience to the next level.

The sessions are designed for students studying, Architecture, Architectural Technology, Planning and other Construction related courses at any university or college in the UK.

The Aberdeen-based architectural design and planning firm said: “COVID-19 has affected a number of the things we take for granted, and that is no different here at Halliday Fraser Munro. Around this time each year, we look forward to welcoming our work experience students and interns as we look to help the next generation of construction students find their feet in the industry. Sadly, for obvious reasons, that isn’t possible this year.”

Each session will be led by different members of HFM’s experienced team and will provide an opportunity for students to hear from industry experts and discuss the latest topics affecting the industry. Each Virtual Studio session will have a Q&A section so students can pick the brains of the panellists.

The first three sessions announced are:

  • 23rd September, 13:00 - Design Journey Through Planning
  • 7th October, 13:00 - Transition from Studio to Office
  • 21st October, 13:00 - Developing the Brief

More sessions will be added in due course.

Registration is based on a first-come, first-served basis.
