Handover date confirmed for Winchburgh primary school
The new Holy Family Primary School in Winchburgh will be handed over to West Lothian Council on August 1.
Development partner hub South East and Tier-1 contractor Morrison Construction, who are delivering the school on behalf of the council, have confirmed that they have made very good progress in constructing the school.
This means the school can now be delivered near to the pre-Covid dates originally proposed by the council during the consultation with parents and stakeholders in 2019.
Plans are being put in place to allow early access for council staff, to enable the school and nursery to be ready for pupils to start from the beginning of the August 2022 term.
The new school is part of the £62 million development to build three new schools and secondary school sports facilities for the growing Winchburgh community. The sports and leisure block will also be handed over to the council on August 1.
It was recently confirmed that Winchburgh Academy will open to S1 pupils from August 2022, with Sinclair Academy expected to open to S1 pupils from August 2023.
