Haventus submits scoping report for Ardersier Port extension
Ardersier Port owner Haventus has submitted a scoping report to the Highland Council for a proposed extension to its Ardersier Energy Transition Facility.
The proposed extension covers nearly 200 acres of adjacent land, which would increase the site’s total developable area to approximately 500 acres.
Subject to gaining the necessary approvals, the additional land would enhance the site’s potential and capability as a location for the manufacturing, assembly, and storage of components for offshore renewables, according to Haventus.
Haventus CEO, Lewis Gillies, said: “Expansion of the site would represent a positive step forward in our vision for the development of Ardersier Energy Transition Facility. The opportunity to add to the site’s acreage greatly enhances the potential for our site and the wider Green Freeport area to further develop a global hub in the Highlands for offshore renewables engineering, manufacturing, and assembly, and secure a multi-decade employment opportunity for the region.”
Haventus will engage with The Highland Council, key agencies, and local stakeholders as part of the planning process, ensuring the development aligns with environmental and community considerations.
