Hew Balfour returns to Havelock Europa
Havelock Europa has announced the appointment of Hew Balfour as a non-executive director.
Mr Balfour was chief executive of the international interior solutions provider from 1989 until 2010 and has held senior roles in the manufacturing, construction, and public sectors both in the UK and internationally.
He is an experienced non-executive director, currently a member of the board of Ebico Limited as well as serving as chairman of Ebico Trading Limited and a non-executive director of Social Ventures in Energy Limited. In addition, he is a non-executive director of SAS Holdings Limited, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Limited and The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (Charities) Limited.
Balfour replaces Alastair Kerr, who joined the Havelock board in September 2012 and will stand down at the company’s annual general meeting in June.
David MacLellan, chairman of Havelock Europa PLC, said: “We are fortunate to be welcoming someone with Hew’s undoubted experience to the Havelock board. I am looking forward to working with Hew and drawing upon his extensive knowledge of the markets Havelock serves as the new management team continues to implement its strategy of making the business more agile and responsive to customer demand.
“I would like to thank Alastair for his significant contribution to the board over the past three-and-a-half years and for his considerable support and wise counsel.”
