HFD smashes fundraising target with annual charity golf day
Commercial property company HFD has raised £116,000 for Scottish charities on the back of its annual golfing fundraiser, beating last year’s record-breaking total by over £10,000.
The event was organised by The HFD Charitable Foundation and saw over 140 players from Scotland’s construction, property and engineering sectors compete at Gleneagles across its three championship courses earlier this summer. The King’s Course team champion was Woolgar Hunter Engineers, with Gardiner & Theobald and Xburo UK picking up the top prize for the Queen’s and PGA courses, respectively.
The fundraising event was first held by HFD 14 years ago and supports the firm’s efforts to provide funding to good causes in Glasgow and the surrounding area for a range of impactful projects.
Recipients of recent grant funding include Amma Birth Companions, Cerebral Palsy Scotland, Beatson Cancer Charity, Finding Your Feet, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland. Support from the HFD Charitable Foundation will contribute to initiatives such as wellbeing therapies, training for volunteers, group and family support services and facilities refurbishment, as well as enabling some of the charities to recruit additional staff.
Lauren McKenzie, HFD Charitable Foundation ambassador, said: “Our annual golf fundraiser was once again a roaring success, and it is great to have achieved our goal of beating last year’s total sum. Thanks to everyone who joined us on the day and supported the organisation of the event.
“The HFD Charitable Foundation was set up to deliver an impact in the communities we work in and on the back of monies raised last year, we have been able to make financial contributions to help several local charities with their incredible work. With even more money raised in 2024, we hope to support additional good causes in the year ahead.”
Sponsors of the event included Gardiner & Theobald, Woolgar Hunter, Wallace Whittle, AM Tiling and Landscape Design Contracts.
