Homes plan for Perth Mart site
Glasgow-based consortium Perth City West has outlined proposals for up to 270 new homes on the site of the former Perth Mart off Crieff Road.
Designed by EMA Architects, the project aims to bring back into use an area of land which had become a target for fly tippers whilst also delivering a range of new family homes.
The rubbish-strewn site was once earmarked for a new Sainsbury’s supermarket, but the bid collapsed after a legal challenge by rival Tesco.
A spokesman for EMA said: “The site is currently rundown and has become an eyesore; this proposal would bring the site back into use and represents an excellent opportunity to provide necessary family and affordable housing in the area.”
