Hotel plan for Dundee office block
Plans have been submitted to transform a 1970s Dundee office block into a hotel with serviced holiday apartments and a rooftop restaurant.
Assurance Developments’ proposals for 5 Whitehall Crescent consist of 3 storeys of serviced holiday apartments, 2 storeys of hotel bedrooms and a rooftop restaurant which will offer a panoramic view over the River Tay right round to City Square, also creating a focal point within the city centre.
Under the plans by RDA Architects, the ground floor will retain its existing use, albeit as a less formal café/bistro dining environment.
First floor to third floor will be converted into serviced holiday apartments with the fourth and fifth floor converted to hotel bedrooms. The serviced apartments on each floor shall consist of four 1 bed apartments and one 2 bedroom apartment, each equipped with a small kitchen area and en-suite facilities.
The fourth & fifth floor shall consist of 9 hotel bedrooms on each floor, all with en-suite facilities, and will include the extension of the fifth floor out to sit flush with the edge of the lower floors.
The rooftop restaurant will form the sixth floor.
