Housing association completes Passivhaus development in Garelochhead
Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) has just completed its first Passivhaus development in Garelochhead.
Passivhaus is designed to a specification to maximise energy efficiency and reduce fuel cost to a minimum.
The ten family and special needs homes have been completed at Linn Walk in the centre of the Helensburgh and Lomond village of Garelochhead. The new homes have been built by Helensburgh builders Stewart and Shields.
Alastair MacGregor, ACHA’s chief executive, said: “In these challenging times it is brilliant to get these homes completed. It is our first new build to come off site since Covid 19 hit us, an achievement I am really proud of.
“I hope our 10 new and existing tenants and their families will enjoy living in their new homes in the beautiful village of Garelochhead.”
On receiving his keys Mr Burch said: “My wife and I are really looking forward to moving in to the new bungalow at Linn Walk. Both of us are disabled and we can now enjoy sitting outside in our own back garden. Having no stairs to climb is a real treat. It has come at a great time in our life.”
The overall contract value was £1,721,840.
