The new homes, a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom properties, provide a range of wheelchair-accessible bungalows, amenity bungalows and general needs housing and have been completed in several phases over the last 12 months.

The homes have achieved bronze and silver sustainability standards, with all homes having solar panels to continue Loreburn’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions and to support customers in reducing running costs and tackling rising fuel costs.

The development received funding from the Scottish Government of £7.6 million towards an overall development cost of £17.1m and was delivered by main contractor Ashleigh Scotland.

As part of the contract with Loreburn, Ashleigh contributed to local communities through various community benefit initiatives and has created apprenticeships and employment opportunities taken up by local people.

Gary Alison, deputy chief executive, said: “These homes are a milestone in our commitment to delivering great new homes that combine high quality and advanced environmental and energy saving design standards that lower running costs and provide warm and affordable homes.

“Our customers have told us how delighted they are with the quality and design standards of their new homes, and we hope they enjoy a long and happy future here at Heathhall.”

Russell Brown, Loreburn’s convener, cut the ribbon at the event and welcomed residents, commenting: “Our vision is to create GREAT places to live and Heathhall is a fantastic example. A place to build a community in homes that are adaptable and that can meet our customers’ current and future needs.”

Alongside a new build development programme, Loreburn said it is dedicated to investment in homes to improve energy efficiency and running costs.

Gary added: “Investment in our existing homes is also a priority to improve energy consumption and affordability for customers. The huge challenge is providing the levels of investment needed over the coming years whilst keeping rents affordable.”
