Housing association secures East Ayrshire care and repair service tender
Shire Housing Association has won a tender to deliver the Care and Repair Service on behalf of the East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership for a further three years from 28 November 2020.
The Association has successfully delivered the East Ayrshire Care and Repair Service since 2003.
East Ayrshire’s Care and Repair Service provides practical advice, and access to funding to help local residents improve, maintain, and adapt their homes. It plays a key role in health and social care integration in East Ayrshire, supporting hospital discharges, whilst preventing hospital admissions resulting from accidents.
Delivery of the new contract will be overseen by the Health and Social Care Partnership Community Equipment and Adaptations Service. A new Steering Group will be established to provide strategic direction, including greater focus on adapting homes and providing residents with technology which will meet their future needs.
Lorne Campbell, the Association’s chairperson, said: “We are delighted to continue working with East Ayrshire and Social Care Partnership delivering this essential service for a further three years.”
Craig Ross of East Ayrshire and Social Care Partnership, added: “The renewal of this contract builds on the strong relationships already in place between the two organisations and will further improve the assistance and advice available to the residents of East Ayrshire, particularly the elderly and disabled who can find it difficult to carry out small repairs and minor adaptations to their homes.”
