hub North Scotland gains national awards recognition
hub North Scotland has been shortlisted in two categories by judges in the GO Awards Scotland after demonstrating its commitment to excellence.
The winners in the awards, designed to recognise excellence in public procurement and the creation of benefits to the business and wider community, will be announced at a ceremony in Glasgow in October.
hub North Scotland, which is behind a range of community-based developments across the region, is in contention for the sustainability and corporate social responsibility initiative award. The other potential success story is in the team of the year award, the second category in which it has been selected as a finalist.
Angus Macfarlane, hub North Scotland chief executive, said: “To be finalists in two categories is a wonderful endorsement of the expertise, dedication and commitment of our entire team. We set very high standards and always look to build on our achievements to date, something which the GO Awards Scotland nominations recognise.
“From our board of directors through to our personnel on the ground, working on a diverse range of projects throughout the north of Scotland, there is a common goal to ensure hub North Scotland leads the way in the delivery of community facilities.”
hub North Scotland is the delivery partner for a number of major projects including the new Alford Community Campus, Wick Community Campus, Brimmond School in Aberdeen and Inverness Royal Academy. The organisation is also delivering the new £55.75 million Anderson High School and halls of residence in Shetland, with work now underway after financial close on the project was reached.
Ainslie McLaughlin, director of procurement and commercial with the Scottish Government, said: “The GO Awards Scotland allow us to celebrate and share excellence and innovation in public procurement. This is not only an opportunity for teams to be recognised for their contribution and commitment, but it is a chance to share case studies and set the benchmark to which other organisations can aspire.”
