The company, renowned for designing leading visitor attractions across the world, from immersive castle experiences and whisky distilleries to sports museums and heritage destinations, has shared the latest visuals of the West Tower, North Tower, and South Tower.
Malissa Geersing, senior 3D designer at Mather & Co, said: “It’s very exciting to be part of the team shaping the Inverness Castle Experience. We’re honoured to play a role in bringing this iconic landmark to life, the experience will invite visitors to embark on a journey through the Highland’s rich culture full of community stories, and vibrant spirit.”
The Cèilidh Rooms, located in the North Tower, will feature a bar and a temporary exhibition space celebrating music and Cèilidhs, integral parts of Highland culture. It will open with a Runrig exhibition, developed, and designed alongside the band members themselves.
The Link Building, connecting the West Tower, North Tower, and South Tower, will provide food and beverage services as well as space for various events.
The West Tower will host an exclusive whisky collection experience, exploring the unique characteristics of whiskies created by the 49 distilleries in the regions of the Highlands, Campbeltown, Islay, and Speyside.
Chair of Highland Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee, Cllr Ken Gowans, said: “It’s great to witness the Castle Project taking shape, on schedule and budget, as we enter this important phase. A coordinated marketing, promotion, and recruitment campaign over the coming months will be needed to ensure a successful launch. This makes it even more real.”
He added: “The Inverness Castle Experience promises to be a major attraction for visitors and locals alike. With what promises to be a world-class destination, which will not only attract more people to Inverness with the associated benefits for the Highland economy, but it will also act as a gateway for people to explore many other areas of Highland and enjoy the diversity.”
