Innovation on the agenda for APSE Building and Housing Group visit
Members of the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE) Building and Housing Advisory Group in Scotland took in some of the latest innovations in products for delivering improved energy efficiency as part of their recent meeting held at the Innovation Hub.
The brainchild of CMS – one of the UK’s largest window, door and building envelope contractors – the Innovation Hub is a new facility dedicated to advancing and facilitating the debate and progress towards the successful delivery of sustainable homes and buildings.
Open for use by any independent organisation like APSE serving the building and housing sectors, the Innovation Hub combines state of the art conference, seminar and meeting spaces with an extensive showroom and exhibition zone in which visitors can explore the technology that goes into today’s advanced window, door, insulation and ventilation solutions.
In addition to providing a showcase for the range of window and door options provided by CMS, this showroom is unique in featuring displays for the manufacturers whose products are integral to the performance of the finished products. This includes market leaders in their respective fields GLASSOLUTIONS Saint-Gobain glass and glazing, Rockwool insulation, Sheerframe PVC-U window systems, Metal Technology aluminium systems and Yale hardware and locks.
APSE event coordinator for Scotland, Louise McMillan, said: “This is an outstanding facility which is unlike any other venue that our Building and Advisory Group has visited in Scotland. Our members, who represent local authorities across Scotland, welcomed the opportunity to familiarise themselves with these latest developments in building envelope products under one roof and we look forward to making use of the Innovation Hub for future events.”
